Terms of Service

Effective Date: January 1, 2026
Business Name: Compass Christian Counseling PLLC (“Company,” “we,” “our,” or “us”)
Address: 3900 Lakeland Dr., Suite 203A & Suite 203B, Flowood, Mississippi 39232
Phone: (601) 228‑6907 • Email: admin@compassccms.com

Important: These Terms govern your use of our public website hosted on Squarespace (the “Site”), our appointment‑scheduling portal at https://compassccms.clientsecure.me (the “Client Portal”), and our non‑marketing operational messaging (including SMS). Clinical services are also governed by separate intake documents and our HIPAA Notice of Privacy Practices (NPP). If there is any conflict regarding Protected Health Information (PHI), the HIPAA NPP controls.

1) Acceptance of These Terms

By accessing or using the Site, the Client Portal, or by communicating with us through the channels we provide, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Site and do not submit information through it. Squarespace also processes limited end‑user data to deliver hosting, analytics, and security for sites on its platform; its separate privacy policy describes that platform‑level processing.

2) Not Medical Advice; No Provider–Patient Relationship via the Website

Content on the Site (including articles, FAQs, resources, and any general guidance) is for informational and educational purposes only and is not medical, psychological, legal, or financial advice. Viewing the Site, sending us a general inquiry, or booking a consultation does not by itself create a therapist–client relationship. That relationship is established only after you complete intake, are accepted as a client, and sign our clinical treatment agreements. Certain mental‑health information receives heightened protections under HIPAA; see our HIPAA NPP for details (e.g., psychotherapy notes).[

Emergency: Do not use the Site or SMS for emergencies. Call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room.

3) Eligibility and Geographic Scope

The Site is intended for use by adults in the United States. If you access the Site from outside the U.S., you understand your information may be processed in the U.S. by us and by Squarespace as part of platform operations.

4) Scheduling, Portal, Insurance & Payments

Scheduling & Client Portal. We offer online scheduling and secure intake through our Client Portal (clientsecure.me), which is provided by a third‑party practice management platform designed for behavioral health. Use of the Client Portal is subject to that provider’s terms and privacy practices in addition to ours. For clinical communications and forms that include PHI, use the Client Portal or other secure channels we specify - not standard email or SMS.

Insurance. If you choose to use insurance (e.g., BlueCross BlueShield, United Health, UMR, Aetna, and others), you authorize us to disclose the minimum necessary information to your plan to verify benefits, obtain authorizations, and process claims, consistent with HIPAA. You are responsible for all amounts not covered by insurance (copays, coinsurance, deductibles, non‑covered services, late cancellations/no‑shows) per our financial policies.

Fees, Cancellations, No‑Shows. Our fees, payment methods, and cancellation/no‑show policies are provided during intake and may also appear on the Site or Client Portal. By booking an appointment, you agree to those policies.

Good Faith Estimates. If you are uninsured or self‑pay, you may request a good faith estimate for services as required by law; ask our front office for details.

5) Communications; SMS Program; Consent & Opt‑Out

We may contact you by phone, email, and SMS for operational purposes such as appointment confirmations, reminders, or other account notices. We avoid including PHI in standard SMS and prefer secure channels for sensitive content. Traditional SMS lacks the safeguards required for many HIPAA‑regulated disclosures, so we limit SMS to non‑PHI content unless you have requested/authorized otherwise and we use appropriate safeguards.

Required SMS Language (as applicable):

  • Brand Name: Compass Christian Counseling

  • Types of Messages: customer care, public service announcements, and account notifications

  • Frequency: may vary

  • Message/Data Rates: standard rates may apply

  • Help: Text HELP or email admin@compassccms.com

  • Consent: By providing your phone number, you agree to receive text messages for the purposes above.

  • Opt‑Out: Text STOP anytime to unsubscribe. You will receive a confirmation message and will no longer receive messages unless you opt in again.

We honor opt‑out requests promptly and manage consent consistent with the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA) and evolving FCC guidance on consent and revocation (including requirements to promptly process STOP requests).

6) Privacy; HIPAA Notice

Your use of the Site is also governed by our Privacy Policy (Squarespace analytics/cookies, embedded third‑party services) and our HIPAA Notice of Privacy Practices for PHI. Squarespace collects certain technical information (e.g., IP address, device/browser data, pages visited, clicks, searches) to power Squarespace Analytics and maintain site security; third‑party embeds (maps, videos, connected accounts) may also receive information about your visit.

7) User Responsibilities & Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Site for any unlawful purpose or to solicit unlawful activity;

  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Site or related systems;

  • Interfere with or disrupt the Site or its security features;

  • Upload or transmit viruses, malware, or harmful code;

  • Post or transmit content that is harassing, defamatory, or invasive of privacy;

  • Submit third‑party PHI or sensitive data through non‑secure channels.

8) Intellectual Property

The Site, including text, graphics, logos, and other content, is owned by Compass Christian Counseling PLLC or our licensors and protected by applicable intellectual‑property laws. You may view content for personal, non‑commercial use. Any other use (including reproduction, distribution, modification, or derivative works) requires our prior written consent.

9) Third‑Party Services & Links

The Site may include links to or integrations with third‑party services (e.g., maps, video players, scheduling portal, social media). Those services are governed by their own terms and privacy policies; we do not control and are not responsible for third‑party sites or services.

10) Telehealth

If we offer telehealth, it is delivered via platforms that meet applicable privacy and security standards. Telehealth is subject to state licensure rules, payer rules, and our clinical agreements. You must be physically located in a state where your clinician is licensed at the time of service. See the Client Portal and intake documents for specifics; HIPAA applies to PHI handled during telehealth.

11) Disclaimers

  • Website availability: The Site is provided “as is” and “as available.” We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error‑free operation. Squarespace provides hosting and may process certain End‑User information for security and service integrity.[

  • No warranty: To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, regarding the Site and its content, including accuracy, reliability, non‑infringement, or fitness for a particular purpose.

  • Healthcare disclaimer: Online content is informational only and not a substitute for professional diagnosis or treatment. For emergencies, call 911.

12) Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Compass Christian Counseling PLLC and its clinicians, employees, and agents shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, exemplary, or punitive damages arising out of or related to your use of the Site, Client Portal access, or reliance on website content. Where liability cannot be disclaimed, it is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid (if any) to use the Site in the 3 months prior to the claim or (b) $100.

Nothing in these Terms limits obligations or remedies that cannot be limited under applicable healthcare privacy/security laws (e.g., HIPAA) or professional standards.

13) Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Compass Christian Counseling PLLC and our affiliates, clinicians, employees, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising from your violation of these Terms or misuse of the Site.

14) Changes to the Site or These Terms

We may update the Site and these Terms at any time. The “Effective Date” above will reflect the latest version. Material changes will be posted on this page and, where required, we will notify you through reasonable means. Squarespace also publishes guidance for posting site policies; please check this page for updates.

15) Governing Law; Dispute Resolution; Venue

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Mississippi, without regard to conflict‑of‑law principles. You agree that any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Site shall be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Rankin County, Mississippi, and you consent to personal jurisdiction there. (If a separate arbitration agreement is included in your clinical intake, that agreement will govern disputes specified therein.)

16) Severability; Waiver; Assignment

If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect. No waiver of any term shall be deemed a further or continuing waiver. You may not assign your rights or obligations under these Terms without our prior written consent.

17) Age Requirements

The Site is intended for adults. We do not knowingly allow children under 18 to submit personal information through the Site without appropriate consent. Clinical services for minors are governed by HIPAA and state law regarding consent and access.
